SyncME allows you to select two separate
back-up locations for a redundancy of protection. If you are in a shared
environment, your back-up files can be encrypted for further protection. You
also have the options of keeping previous file versions or changes, a set
number or infinite.
SyncME also comes with a few utilities, File Encrypter for sending files, an Executable protector for
demo or testing and a separate Manual Back-up program to insure that the Real
Time back-up is not interrupted. There is also an upgrade to a Server version
allowing server files to be backed up to 5 separate off site locations along
with server monitoring software.
The Manual back-up can be run manually
or can be set to run a scheduled times. It is a separate utility so that it
will not interfere with the Real Time back-up in any way. You can also have
this run at the end of day and it can shut down your PC when done.
If you need to send files to someone and
want them protected you can use the Encrypt and Send utility. This program will
encrypt and zip the files, including a decrypt utility for the recipient. This
provides far more protection than merely a password zip file, which is easy to
crack. Once the zip file is received, they unzip the package to gain access to
the Decrypt utility, install it, run it and enter the required passwords, then
gain access to the files.
SyncMe also comes with an Executable
protector, allowing you to protect you program for Demo or Trial purposes or
just to keep it from being used by unauthorized users.
